In this tutorial, we will guide you through the process of installing Pagekit on Alpine Linux Latest.
Before we begin, make sure that you have the following:
Open your terminal and log in to your server using your root credentials.
Ensure that your server is up-to-date by running the following command:
apk update && apk upgrade
Once your server is up-to-date, install the Apache web server and PHP by entering the following command:
apk add apache2 php php-apache2
After installing Apache and PHP, start the Apache service by running:
rc-service apache2 start
Next, you need to download the latest version of Pagekit from its official website.
You can use the wget
command to download the latest version of Pagekit:
wget https://pagekit.com/download/latest.zip
After downloading the Pagekit ZIP file, extract it to your web server's root directory by running:
unzip latest.zip -d /var/www/localhost/htdocs/
Change the ownership of the Pagekit files and directories:
chown -R apache:apache /var/www/localhost/htdocs/
Configure Apache to serve the Pagekit website by editing the /etc/apache2/httpd.conf
file.
nano /etc/apache2/httpd.conf
Add the following lines to the end of the configuration file:
<Directory /var/www/localhost/htdocs/pagekit>
Options FollowSymLinks
AllowOverride All
Require all granted
</Directory>
Save and exit the file.
Restart the Apache service to apply the changes to the configuration file:
rc-service apache2 restart
Open your web browser and enter your server's IP address or domain name to launch the Pagekit installation wizard.
Once you have followed the on-screen instructions, Pagekit should be installed and ready to use.
Congratulations! You have now successfully installed Pagekit on Alpine Linux Latest.
If you want to self-host in an easy, hands free way, need an external IP address, or simply want your data in your own hands, give IPv6.rs a try!
Alternatively, for the best virtual desktop, try Shells!
