RustDesk is a free and open-source remote desktop software that allows users to connect to their devices remotely. In this tutorial, we will see how to install RustDesk on Alpine Linux.
Before we begin, make sure your Alpine Linux system is up to date by running the following command:
sudo apk update && sudo apk upgrade
RustDesk requires several dependencies to be installed on your system. To install these dependencies, run the following command in your terminal:
sudo apk add openssl-dev cmake pkgconfig ffmpeg-dev libc-dev dbus-dev qt5-qtbase-dev
Next, we need to download the RustDesk binary from their website. You can do this by running the following command:
wget https://rustdesk.com/download/x86_64-linux/rustdesk.tar.gz
After downloading the RustDesk binary, we need to extract it. You can do this by running the following command:
tar -xzf rustdesk.tar.gz
Once the RustDesk binary is extracted, we need to install it. You can do this by running the following command:
sudo ./rustdesk install
Finally, we need to start RustDesk. You can do this by running the following command:
sudo systemctl start rustdesk
