Follow these steps to install Vigil on Alpine Linux Latest:
Open a terminal window on your Alpine Linux system.
Update the package manager's repository index:
$ apk update
Install the required dependencies using the following command:
$ apk add libgcc libstdc++
Download the latest version of Vigil using curl command:
$ curl -LJO https://github.com/stuart-warren/vigil-server/releases/latest/download/vigil-server-vVERSION-x86_64-unknown-linux-musl.tar.gz
Replace VERSION with the latest version number available on the Vigil release page.
Extract the downloaded archive:
$ tar -xvf vigil-server-vVERSION-x86_64-unknown-linux-musl.tar.gz
Install Vigil by moving the vigil-server binary file to /usr/local/bin/:
$ sudo mv vigil-server /usr/local/bin/
Verify that Vigil is successfully installed by checking its version:
$ vigil-server --version
This command will output the version number of Vigil that you just installed.
