KooZic is an open-source music server that allows you to stream and access your music library from anywhere. In this tutorial, we will guide you through the process of installing KooZic on Arch Linux.
Before starting, make sure that you have the following:
Before installing any new packages, it is always a good idea to update your system to the latest version. To do this, run the following command:
sudo pacman -Syu
In order to install KooZic, we need to install some dependencies required by the application. Run the following command to install them:
sudo pacman -S python python-pip ffmpeg lame
Now it's time to install KooZic. To do this, follow the steps below:
Download the KooZic installer script using the following command:
wget https://raw.githubusercontent.com/DocMarty84/koozic/master/install.sh
Make the script executable by running the following command:
chmod +x install.sh
Run the KooZic installer script using the following command:
sudo ./install.sh
The installer script will guide you through the installation process. Press Enter to accept the default settings.
Once the installation is completed, start the KooZic service by running the following command:
sudo systemctl start koozic
You can verify that the service is running by running the following command:
sudo systemctl status koozic
If the service is running, you should see an output similar to the one shown below:
● koozic.service - KooZic Music Server
Loaded: loaded (/usr/lib/systemd/system/koozic.service; enabled; vendor preset: disabled)
Active: active (running) since Sat 2021-10-23 15:51:36 CEST; 30s ago
Now that KooZic is installed and running, it's time to access the application. Open your web browser and navigate to http://localhost:8000 to access the KooZic web interface.
