NeonLink is a modular Discord bot that can be used for various purposes. In this tutorial, we will guide you through the process of installing NeonLink on Arch Linux.
Before we begin, make sure that your system is up-to-date by running the command:
sudo pacman -Syu
You will also need a Discord account and server to test your NeonLink installation. If you don’t have one, create a new account and server.
To install NeonLink, first, we need to install its dependencies. Run the following command to install the necessary packages:
sudo pacman -S python python-pip
This command will install Python and pip, the package manager for Python.
Now we will clone the NeonLink repository from GitHub. Open a terminal window and navigate to the directory where you want to download the repository:
cd /path/to/neonlink-repo
Next, clone the repository by running the following command:
git clone https://github.com/AlexSciFier/neonlink.git
This will download the NeonLink source code to the current directory.
Once the repository has been cloned, install the required Python packages by running the following command:
cd neonlink
pip install -r requirements.txt
Finally, create a file named config.json
in the neonlink
directory, and paste the following code:
{
"token": "YOUR_BOT_TOKEN_HERE",
"prefix": "!",
"modules": {
"core": {}
}
}
Replace YOUR_BOT_TOKEN_HERE
with your Discord bot’s token.
To test your NeonLink installation, run the following command in the neonlink
directory:
python neon.py
Your NeonLink bot should start up and log in to your Discord server. You can now invite the bot to your server and interact with it using various commands.
You have successfully installed NeonLink on Arch Linux! The bot is now ready to use on your Discord server. Explore its features and customize the bot to your liking.
If you want to self-host in an easy, hands free way, need an external IP address, or simply want your data in your own hands, give IPv6.rs a try!
Alternatively, for the best virtual desktop, try Shells!
