RSS Monster is an open-source RSS aggregator that allows you to read RSS feeds from multiple sources in one place. This tutorial will guide you on how to install RSS Monster on an Arch Linux operating system.
Before we proceed with RSS Monster installation, we need to install some required packages on our system. Open the terminal and run the following command to update the package repository and upgrade installed packages:
sudo pacman -Syu
Once the system is up-to-date, we can install the required packages by running the following command:
sudo pacman -S nodejs npm git
Now, we will clone the RSS Monster repository using the git
command. Run the following command in the terminal:
git clone https://github.com/pietheinstrengholt/rssmonster.git
Once the cloning process is complete, cd
into the newly created rssmonster
directory:
cd rssmonster
Next, we will install the dependencies required by RSS Monster and build the project. Run the following command in the terminal:
npm install
npm run build
Finally, start the RSS Monster server using the following command:
npm start
Once the server is up and running, you can access the RSS Monster web interface by opening your web browser and navigating to http://localhost:3000
