Dillinger is a free, online Markdown editor that allows you to write, edit, and preview Markdown documents in your web browser.
In this tutorial, we will walk you through the steps to install Dillinger on Arch Linux.
Before proceeding, you will need to have the following:
Dillinger is written in Node.js, so we need to install it first. Open the Terminal and run the following command:
sudo pacman -S nodejs npm
This command will install Node.js and npm on your system.
Dillinger is available on GitHub, so we need to install the Git version control system to clone the source code. Run the following command to install Git:
sudo pacman -S git
After installing Node.js and Git, we need to clone the Dillinger repository to our local system. Run the following command to clone the repository:
git clone https://github.com/joemccann/dillinger.git
This command will clone the Dillinger repository to your current working directory.
Now that we have cloned the repository, we need to install its dependencies. Navigate to the cloned directory and run the following command:
cd dillinger
sudo npm install
This command will install all the necessary packages for Dillinger.
After installing all the dependencies, run the following command to start the Dillinger server:
sudo npm start
Dillinger will now be running on your local system, and you can access it by opening your web browser and navigating to the following address:
http://localhost:8080/
