Piqueserver is an open-source server for Ace of Spades and other games. It is written in Python and supports mods, custom maps, and scripting. In this tutorial, we will go through the process of installing Piqueserver on Clear Linux Latest.
Before we start, make sure you have the following prerequisites:
First, we need to clone the Piqueserver repository from GitHub. To do this, open a terminal window and run the following command:
$ git clone https://github.com/piqueserver/piqueserver.git
This will create a new directory named piqueserver
in your current working directory.
Now, we need to install the dependencies required by Piqueserver. Run the command below in your terminal window:
$ sudo swupd bundle-add python38-basic
This will install Python 3.8, which is the minimum version required by Piqueserver.
To install Piqueserver, navigate to the piqueserver
directory that was created in step 1. Then, run the following command:
$ sudo python setup.py install
This will install Piqueserver on your system.
To start Piqueserver, run the following command in your terminal window:
$ piqueserver
This will start the server with default settings. If you want to customize the server settings, you can create a configuration file (refer to the Piqueserver documentation for more details).
Congratulations! You have successfully installed Piqueserver on Clear Linux Latest. You can now host your own Ace of Spades server or other compatible games. Enjoy!
If you want to self-host in an easy, hands free way, need an external IP address, or simply want your data in your own hands, give IPv6.rs a try!
Alternatively, for the best virtual desktop, try Shells!
