OpenBudgeteer is a personal budgeting tool that can help you keep track of your expenses and income. In this tutorial, we will guide you on how to install OpenBudgeteer on Debian.
Before we proceed with the installation, make sure that you have the following:
OpenBudgeteer is built using node.js. Therefore, we need to install node.js on our system. You can install it by running the following commands in your terminal:
sudo apt update
sudo apt install nodejs
sudo apt install npm
Verify that node.js was installed correctly by checking the version with the following command:
node -v
We need to clone the OpenBudgeteer repository from GitHub. To do that, run the following command in your terminal:
git clone https://github.com/TheAxelander/OpenBudgeteer.git
This will clone the OpenBudgeteer repository to your current working directory.
Change your working directory to OpenBudgeteer:
cd OpenBudgeteer
Then, install the dependencies by running the following command:
npm install
Once the installation of dependencies is completed, we are ready to run OpenBudgeteer with the following command:
npm start
Congratulations! You have successfully installed OpenBudgeteer on Debian. You can now create an account or log in with your existing account to start budgeting. Enjoy!
