Kiwi IRC is a free and open-source web-based IRC client that allows users to connect to IRC networks and chat rooms. In this tutorial, we will show you how to install Kiwi IRC on Elementary OS Latest.
To download Kiwi IRC, open your preferred web browser and go to the following link: https://kiwiirc.com/downloads/
On the downloads page, you will see several options for Kiwi IRC. Choose the option that is right for your system. For Elementary OS Latest, you will want to download the "Linux (64-bit)" version.
Once the download is complete, go to your Downloads folder and locate the downloaded file.
To extract the files, right-click on the downloaded file and select "Extract Here". This will create a new directory with the extracted files.
Open the Terminal by clicking on "Applications" in your dock and typing "Terminal" in the search bar. Once the Terminal opens, navigate to the directory where you extracted the Kiwi IRC files using the following command:
cd ~/Downloads/kiwiirc-vX.X.X-linux-x64
Replace the "X.X.X" with the version number of the Kiwi IRC you downloaded.
Once you are in the directory, run the following command to start the Kiwi IRC:
./kiwiirc
This will start the Kiwi IRC client and it will open in your default web browser.
To connect to an IRC network, enter your username and select the network you want to join. You can then join a chat room or create your own.
Congratulations! You have successfully installed Kiwi IRC on Elementary OS Latest and connected to an IRC network.
