NymphCast is an open-source software that allows users to stream media files from one device to another. To install NymphCast on EndeavourOS Latest, follow these steps:
Before installing any new software on your system, it's important to make sure that everything is up-to-date.
Open a terminal window and run the following command:

NymphCast requires several dependencies to function properly. To install these dependencies on your system, run the following command:
sudo pacman -S git make gcc pkgconf libtool mbedtls ffmpeg
To download the NymphCast source code, you'll need to clone the project's GitHub repository.
In your terminal window, navigate to a directory where you'd like to store the NymphCast source code. Then, run the following command:
git clone https://github.com/MayaPosch/NymphCast.git
Once you've cloned the NymphCast repository, navigate into the project's directory and compile the software. To do this, run the following commands:
cd NymphCast
make
sudo make install
To start the NymphCast server, run the following command:
sudo nymphcast-server
By default, the NymphCast server will listen on port 9000.
To use NymphCast, you'll need to install the NymphCast client on your other device(s). You can download the client from the official NymphCast website.
Once you have the client installed, simply connect to the NymphCast server (the IP address of the device running the server) and start streaming media files.
That's it! You now have NymphCast up and running on EndeavourOS Latest. Enjoy!
If you want to self-host in an easy, hands free way, need an external IP address, or simply want your data in your own hands, give IPv6.rs a try!
Alternatively, for the best virtual desktop, try Shells!
