Olaris is an open-source, self-hosted file-sharing platform that allows you to share files securely and privately. In this tutorial, we will show you how to install Olaris on EndeavourOS Latest.
Before starting, ensure that you have the following:
To run Olaris, we need to install some dependencies. Run the following command to do so:
sudo pacman -S nodejs npm yarn
Next, we will clone the Olaris repository to our local machine. Run the following command to clone the repository:
git clone https://gitlab.com/olaris/olaris-server.git
Once the repository is cloned, navigate to the cloned repository's directory and run the following command to install and build Olaris:
cd olaris-server
yarn install
yarn build
Next, we need to configure Olaris. Create a new file named .env
using the following command:
cp .env.example .env
Open the .env
file and modify the settings according to your requirements. The default configuration should work fine in most cases.
Finally, we will start the Olaris server. Run the following command to start the server:
yarn start
The server will start running on http://localhost:3000.
You have successfully installed Olaris on your EndeavourOS Latest system. Now, you can use it to securely and privately share files with your friends and colleagues.
If you want to self-host in an easy, hands free way, need an external IP address, or simply want your data in your own hands, give IPv6.rs a try!
Alternatively, for the best virtual desktop, try Shells!
