Orchest is an open-source management system that provides an easy way to deploy containerized applications. This tutorial will guide you through the steps required to install Orchest on EndeavourOS Latest.
We'll start by updating the system to ensure that all packages are up to date:
sudo pacman -Syu
Orchest depends on Docker, so we need to install it first. We'll use pacman to install Docker:
sudo pacman -S docker
Once the installation is complete, start the Docker service:
sudo systemctl start docker
Enable Docker to start on boot:
sudo systemctl enable docker
Now that Docker is installed, we can proceed with installing Orchest. To do that, we're going to use the git clone
command to clone the orchest git repository:
git clone https://github.com/orchest/orchest.git
Change the directory to the orchest folder:
cd orchest
Start Orchest with Docker Compose:
sudo docker-compose up -d
Orchest should now be running.
We can verify that Orchest is running by checking the container status:
sudo docker ps
The output should include a container named orchest_web
. If the container is in the Up
state, then Orchest is up and running.
Congratulations! You have successfully installed Orchest on EndeavourOS Latest. You can now start using Orchest to deploy containerized applications. For more information about Orchest, please refer to the official documentation.
If you want to self-host in an easy, hands free way, need an external IP address, or simply want your data in your own hands, give IPv6.rs a try!
Alternatively, for the best virtual desktop, try Shells!
