Podify is a free and open-source podcast player for Linux. It allows you to search and listen to podcasts, save episodes for offline listening, and even download transcripts of episodes. In this tutorial, we will guide you on how to install Podify on EndeavourOS Latest.
Before installing any new software, it's important to update the system to ensure that you have the latest updates and patches installed. To update your EndeavourOS system, open a terminal and enter the following command:
sudo pacman -Syu
Enter your password when prompted, and then wait for the updates to finish.
Podify requires some dependencies to be installed before it can be install. To install these dependencies, open the terminal and enter the following command:
sudo pacman -S qt5-base qt5-tools qt5-multimedia gst-plugins-good gst-plugins-base gst-plugins-bad gst-plugins-ugly
Enter your password when prompted, and then wait for the installation to complete.
Once the dependencies are installed, you can now proceed with installing Podify itself. To do so, open a terminal and enter the following command:
yay -S podify-git
If prompted, select "1" to continue with the installation, and then enter your password when prompted.
Wait for the installation to complete.
Once the installation is complete, you can launch Podify by typing "podify" in a terminal window, or by searching for "Podify" in your system's application launcher.
Congratulations! You have successfully installed Podify on EndeavourOS Latest. You can now start searching for and listening to your favorite podcasts.
