Rapido is an open-source tool designed for simplifying the process of setting up a local development environment. It is available via the InfoLibre Git repository, specifically at https://framagit.org/InfoLibre/rapido.
In this tutorial, we will guide you through the process of installing Rapido on your EndeavourOS Latest installation.
Before we begin, you will need:
We will begin by updating our EndeavourOS system. You can do this by opening a terminal emulator and running the following command:
sudo pacman -Syu
This will ensure that your system is up to date, and you have the latest software packages installed.
Rapido is hosted on Git, and we need to install Git to be able to clone the repository to our system.
To install Git, run the following command:
sudo pacman -S git
Now that Git is installed, we can move ahead and clone the Rapido Git repository.
You can do this by running the following command:
git clone https://framagit.org/InfoLibre/rapido
This will clone the Rapido repository to the directory where you run the command from.
Next, we need to install the dependencies required by Rapido to run.
Navigate to the rapido directory that you just cloned and run the following command:
./bin/rapido init
This will install the required dependencies for Rapido.
For ease of use, we will now add the Rapido executable to your PATH
environment variable.
To do this, run the following command:
echo 'export PATH="$PATH:/path/to/rapido"' >> ~/.bashrc
Make sure to replace /path/to/rapido
with the actual path to your Rapido directory. You can find the path by running the pwd
command while in the rapido directory.
Once you enter the command above, Rapido will be added to your PATH
, and you can run the rapido
command from any directory on your system.
To test whether Rapido is installed correctly, run the following command:
rapido info
This will display information about your system and validate that Rapido is working correctly.
Congratulations! You have successfully installed Rapido on your EndeavourOS Latest system. You can now use Rapido to manage your local development environment and streamline your workflow.
If you want to self-host in an easy, hands free way, need an external IP address, or simply want your data in your own hands, give IPv6.rs a try!
Alternatively, for the best virtual desktop, try Shells!
