StoneAge Messenger is a private, secure and decentralized messaging application. It guarantees the privacy of its users by using end-to-end encryption, and doesn’t store data on any centralized server. In this tutorial, we will guide you on how to install StoneAge Messenger on EndeavourOS.
Before installing any new software, it is always recommended to update your system. Run the following command to update your system:
sudo pacman -Syu
You need to install Git and some dependencies to build StoneAge Messenger from source. Run the following command to install Git and dependencies:
sudo pacman -S git libtool automake autoconf pkg-config gtk3 libgee
Next, we will clone the StoneAge Messenger source code from GitLab repository. Run the following command to clone the repository:
git clone https://gitlab.com/cweb/StoneAge.git
Now, navigate to the StoneAge directory using the following command:
cd StoneAge
Next, run the following command to configure and build the application:
./autogen.sh
make
Once the compilation is complete, install the application using the following command:
sudo make install
To run StoneAge Messenger, use the following command:
stoneage-messenger
Now you have successfully installed StoneAge Messenger on EndeavourOS.
