Before we begin, you need to have the following:
Rdiff-backup requires the following packages to be installed on your system:
sudo dnf install -y rdiff-backup python3-lockfile
This command installs both Rdiff-backup and Python lockfile package on your Fedora CoreOS Latest instance.
After the installation completes, you can verify if Rdiff-backup has been installed successfully. To do so, use the following command:
rdiff-backup --version
This will display the version of Rdiff-backup installed on your system.
Once you have Rdiff-backup installed, you can use it to take backups of your data. You can use the following command to create a backup of a directory named mydata
:
rdiff-backup /path/to/mydata /path/to/backupdir
This will create a backup of the mydata
directory in the /path/to/backupdir
.
