Yopass is a zero-knowledge secrets manager which ensures that only the intended recipient can decrypt the secrets. In this tutorial, we will guide you on how to install Yopass on Fedora CoreOS Latest.
The first step is to install Docker on your Fedora CoreOS system. Docker is a containerization technology that allows you to run Yopass in a container.
To install Docker, execute the following command:
$ sudo rpm-ostree install docker
After the installation is complete, start the Docker service:
$ sudo systemctl start docker
To verify that Docker is installed correctly, run the following command:
$ docker info
We will now download the Yopass Docker image and start a new Yopass container.
Execute the following command to download the Yopass image:
$ docker pull jhaals/yopass
Once the download is complete, start a new container:
$ docker run -d -p 1337:1337 jhaals/yopass
To verify that Yopass is running correctly, open a web browser and navigate to http://<your-server's-IP-address>:1337. You should see the Yopass web interface.
In this tutorial, we have shown you how to install Yopass on Fedora CoreOS Using Docker. Now that you have Yopass up and running, you can start using it to store and share your secrets securely.
If you want to self-host in an easy, hands free way, need an external IP address, or simply want your data in your own hands, give IPv6.rs a try!
Alternatively, for the best virtual desktop, try Shells!
