Jami is a free, open-source communication platform that allows users to make voice and video calls, exchange text messages, and share files securely. In this tutorial, we will walk you through the steps of installing Jami on a Fedora Server Latest operating system.
Before we start, make sure you have the following:
Jami provides an official RPM repository for Fedora. To add the repository to your Fedora Server Latest, open a terminal and run the following commands:
$ sudo dnf install dnf-plugins-core -y
$ sudo dnf copr enable ngompa/solbuild -y
$ sudo dnf config-manager --add-repo https://dl.jami.net/nightly/fedora_34/jami.repo
The above commands will install the necessary plugins and add the Jami repository to your system.
Once the Jami repository is added, you can start installing Jami by running the following command:
$ sudo dnf install jami -y
This command will install the Jami package and its dependencies on your system.
After the installation is complete, you can launch Jami from the terminal by running the following command:
$ jami-gnome
Alternatively, you can launch Jami from the Applications menu on your desktop.
