This tutorial will guide you through the installation of Cryptonote on a Fedora Server. Cryptonote is an open-source cryptocurrency software platform that allows for decentralized, private transactions.
Update the Fedora Server by running the following command:
sudo dnf update
Install Git by running the following command:
sudo dnf install git
Clone the Cryptonote repository by running the following command:
git clone https://github.com/cryptonotefoundation/cryptonote.git
Install dependencies by running the following command:
sudo dnf install gcc-c++ cmake make boost-devel miniupnpc-devel doxygen graphviz*
Navigate to the build directory and configure the build by running the following command:
cd cryptonote && mkdir build && cd build
cmake ..
Build the Cryptonote source code by running the following command:
make
After building completes successfully, run the Cryptonote daemon by running the following command:
./bin/cryptonoted --rpc-bind-port 18081 --p2p-bind-port 18080
The daemon will start syncing with the Cryptonote network. The initial sync may take some time, so be patient.
Once the sync completes, you can begin transacting with Cryptonote.
In this tutorial, we have successfully installed Cryptonote on a Fedora Server. You can now start transacting with Cryptonote on your Fedora Server.
If you want to self-host in an easy, hands free way, need an external IP address, or simply want your data in your own hands, give IPv6.rs a try!
Alternatively, for the best virtual desktop, try Shells!
