In this tutorial, we will walk you through the steps to install GlusterFS on FreeBSD latest.
Before installing GlusterFS, ensure that you have the following:
Before we begin the installation process, let's first update the system packages to ensure we have the latest version.
sudo pkg update
sudo pkg upgrade
Now that we have updated our packages, let's proceed with the installation of GlusterFS.
sudo pkg install glusterfs
After installing GlusterFS, we need to configure it to meet our needs. We will create a GlusterFS volume where we will store our data.
sudo gluster volume create myvol replica 2 transport tcp server1:/data/glusterfs/server1 server2:/data/glusterfs/server2
sudo gluster volume start myvol
sudo gluster volume info
You can update the volume name myvol
and the server names and paths based on your environment.
Once we have created and started the GlusterFS volume, we can mount it using the mount command.
sudo mkdir /mnt/glusterfs
sudo mount -t glusterfs server1:/myvol /mnt/glusterfs
Finally, let's verify that the GlusterFS volume is mounted correctly.
df -h
You should see the GlusterFS volume mounted on /mnt/glusterfs
.
Congratulations! You have successfully installed and configured GlusterFS on FreeBSD latest.
