Buddycloud is a decentralized social networking platform that provides real-time messaging, content sharing, and group communication. In this tutorial, we will go through the steps to install Buddycloud on Kali Linux.

Buddycloud requires Java to be installed on your system. Verify if Java is already installed on your system by running the following command:
java -version

sudo apt install openjdk-11-jre-headless -y
Buddycloud can be installed via its Debian package. To download the package, run the following command:

sudo dpkg -i buddycloud-server-4.4.4-all.deb
After the installation is complete, you need to configure Buddycloud. Open the configuration file using the following command:
sudo nano /etc/buddycloud/server.conf
In this file, you need to set up the following parameters:
xmpp.host
- Set this to your server's hostname or IP addressxmpp.domain
- Set this to your domain nameadmins
- Set the usernames of the adminsSave the changes and exit the file.
After the configuration is complete, start the Buddycloud server using the following command:
sudo systemctl start buddycloud-server
To check the status of the server, run the following command:
sudo systemctl status buddycloud-server
