This tutorial will guide you on how to install CUPS on Kali Linux Latest. CUPS (Common Unix Printing System) is a print server that allows you to share printers over a network.
Before installing CUPS, update your system to ensure you have the latest packages installed. Open up a terminal and type the following command:
sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get upgrade
This command will update your package list and install the latest updates for your system.
Once your system is updated, you can proceed with the installation of CUPS. Open up a terminal and type the following command:
sudo apt-get install cups
This command will install CUPS on your system.
After installing CUPS, you need to start the CUPS service. Open up a terminal and type the following command:
sudo systemctl start cups
This command will start the CUPS service.
Once the CUPS service is started, you can configure it by accessing the CUPS web interface. Open up a web browser and type the following URL in the address bar:
http://localhost:631
This URL will take you to the CUPS web interface. From here, you can configure printers and manage print jobs.
To add a printer, click on the "Administration" tab in the CUPS web interface and then click "Add Printer". Follow the instructions in the wizard to add your printer.
CUPS is now installed and configured on your Kali Linux system. You can now share printers over your network using CUPS.
If you want to self-host in an easy, hands free way, need an external IP address, or simply want your data in your own hands, give IPv6.rs a try!
Alternatively, for the best virtual desktop, try Shells!
