EmailRelay is an SMTP proxy and relay that helps to bridge communication between the client and the server. It is open-source software with a lightweight footprint and can be used to forward incoming email messages to other email servers. In this tutorial, we will show you how to install EmailRelay on Kali Linux Latest.
Before installing EmailRelay, you need to ensure that you have the following:
Run the following command in your terminal to install EmailRelay:
sudo apt-get install emailrelay
After successful installation, it is time to configure EmailRelay. Open the configuration file in your chosen text editor.
sudo vim /etc/emailrelay.conf
Next, enter the following settings to configure EmailRelay:
# Configuration for email relay
# Server settings
smtp-relay-host=YOUR-EMAIL-SERVER-IP-ADDRESS
smtp-relay-auth=
smtp-relay-port=25
# Client settings
smtp-auth=user:password
local-address=127.0.0.1

YOUR-EMAIL-SERVER-IP-ADDRESS with your email server IP address.smtp-auth= in user:password format.Save and exit the file.
Run the following command to start the EmailRelay service:
sudo systemctl start emailrelay
To verify that EmailRelay is running, run the following command:
sudo systemctl status emailrelay
If the service is active, then you should see a message indicating that the service is running.
