In this tutorial, we will walk through the steps to install Fusion Directory on Kali Linux latest. Fusion Directory is an open-source web-based LDAP administration tool that allows system administrators to manage users, groups, services, and other directory-related data from a centralized location.
Before we can get started with installing Fusion Directory, make sure that the following dependencies are installed on your system:
Begin by opening a terminal window on your Kali Linux system.
Update your system packages by running the following command:
sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get upgrade -y
Install the Apache webserver, PHP, and other required packages by running the following command:
sudo apt-get install apache2 php7.2 php7.2-ldap zip unzip -y
Install the OpenLDAP server using the following command:
sudo apt-get install slapd ldap-utils -y
Download the latest version of Fusion Directory from their official website by using the following command:
wget https://repos.fusiondirectory.org/sources/fusiondirectory/1.4/fusiondirectory-1.4.0.tar.gz
Extract the downloaded tarball using the following command:
tar xzf fusiondirectory-1.4.0.tar.gz
Navigate to the newly created Fusion Directory directory by running the following command:
cd fusiondirectory-1.4.0
Install Fusion Directory by running the following command:
sudo ./fusiondirectory-setup --install
Follow the on-screen instructions to perform the installation process. You will be asked to provide the LDAP administrator password, LDAP base DN, and other details.
Once the installation is complete, restart the Apache service by running the following command:
sudo systemctl restart apache2
Finally, open a web browser and navigate to http://localhost/fusiondirectory
. You should see the Fusion Directory login page. Use the administrator credentials that you provided during the installation process to log in and start using Fusion Directory.
