This tutorial will guide you through the steps to install Open Source POS on Kali Linux Latest. Open Source POS is an open-source point of sale system designed for small to medium-sized businesses.
Open the terminal on Kali Linux.
Check whether Git is installed or not by running the following command:
git --version
If Git is not installed, install it by running the following command:
sudo apt-get install git
Clone the Open Source POS repository by running the following command:
git clone https://github.com/opensourcepos/opensourcepos.git
Change the directory to the Open Source POS repository by running the following command:
cd opensourcepos
Install the required packages by running the following command:
sudo apt-get install apache2 php mysql-server php-mysql
Create a new database for Open Source POS by running the following commands:
mysql -u root -p
CREATE DATABASE opensourcepos;
GRANT ALL PRIVILEGES ON opensourcepos.* TO 'opensourcepos'@'localhost' IDENTIFIED BY 'password';
FLUSH PRIVILEGES;
EXIT;
Note: Replace 'password' with a strong password of your choice.
Initialize the Open Source POS installation by running the following command:
sudo php index.php install
Follow the prompts to configure the database and create an administrator account.
Open a web browser and navigate to http://localhost/opensourcepos to access the Open Source POS dashboard.
