Rapidbay is a free and open-source BitTorrent search engine that lets you search from multiple torrent websites and provides the results on a single page. In this tutorial, we will go over the steps to install Rapidbay on Kali Linux.
Before we begin, make sure that you have the following prerequisites installed on your system:
If you don't have these prerequisites, you can install them using the following commands:
sudo apt update
sudo apt install python3
sudo apt install git
The first step is to clone the Rapidbay repository from Github. To do this, open the terminal and type the following command:
git clone https://github.com/hauxir/rapidbay.git
This command will download the Rapidbay source code to your local machine.
Rapidbay requires certain packages to be installed before you can run it. Use the following command to install these dependencies:
sudo apt-get install python3-pip python3-dev libffi-dev libssl-dev libxml2-dev libxslt1-dev libjpeg-dev zlib1g-dev
Now, create a Python virtual environment to isolate Rapidbay from the system's Python environment. Use the following command to create a virtual environment:
python3 -m venv rapidbayenv
This will create a new virtual environment named 'rapidbayenv'.
To activate the virtual environment, use the following command:
source rapidbayenv/bin/activate
This command will enable the virtual environment and prepare it to install Rapidbay.
Now, we are ready to install Rapidbay. Use the following command to install Rapidbay:
pip3 install -r requirements.txt
This command will install all the required packages for Rapidbay.
After the installation is complete, use the following command to run Rapidbay:
python3 main.py
This command will start the Rapidbay server, and you can then access it using your web browser by navigating to http://localhost:8000.
