To proceed with this installation, you will need the following:
First, you need to download the Thunderbird setup file from the official website. Open your preferred browser and go to https://www.thunderbird.net/. Click on the "Download Thunderbird" button, and then choose the appropriate version for your system.
Once the download is complete, navigate to the folder where the Thunderbird setup file is downloaded. Right-click on the file and select "Extract here." This will extract the contents of the setup file and create a new folder called "thunderbird."
Move the "thunderbird" folder to the "/opt" directory. Open the terminal and run the following command:
sudo mv thunderbird /opt/
Now, create a symbolic link to the Thunderbird executable file using the following command:
sudo ln -s /opt/thunderbird/thunderbird /usr/bin/thunderbird
This will create a shortcut to Thunderbird, so that you can run it from anywhere in the terminal.
To launch Thunderbird, simply open the terminal and type "thunderbird." Press Enter to start the program. Alternatively, you can also launch it from the applications menu.
