TiddlyWiki is a free and open-source single-page web application wiki that can be used for organizing and sharing information. In this tutorial, we will walk you through the process of installing TiddlyWiki on Kali Linux latest.
Before we begin, make sure that you have the following:
TiddlyWiki requires Node.js to be installed on your system. To install Node.js on Kali Linux, open Terminal and run the following command:
sudo apt-get install nodejs
You may also need to install npm (Node.js Package Manager) by running the following command:
sudo apt-get install npm
You can download the latest version of TiddlyWiki from the official website or GitHub repository. For this tutorial, we will use the GitHub repository.
Open Terminal and navigate to the directory where you want to install TiddlyWiki. Then, run the following command to download TiddlyWiki to your system:
git clone https://github.com/Jermolene/TiddlyWiki5.git
Note: If you don't have Git installed, you can install it by running the following command:
sudo apt-get install git
Since TiddlyWiki is built on Node.js, we need to install its dependencies. Navigate to the TiddlyWiki directory that you downloaded in the previous step (e.g. cd TiddlyWiki5) and run the following command:
npm install
This command will install all the required modules and dependencies for TiddlyWiki.
To run TiddlyWiki, navigate to the directory where you downloaded it and run the following command:
node ./tiddlywiki.js
This will start the TiddlyWiki server on your local machine at http://127.0.0.1:8080/.
You can access the TiddlyWiki interface by opening your browser and navigating to http://127.0.0.1:8080/.
By default, TiddlyWiki is a self-contained HTML file that can be opened and edited in your browser. Once your changes are made, you need to download the modified HTML file to save your changes.
Click on the download button on the top right-hand corner of the TiddlyWiki interface, and save the downloaded file to your system.
Now you can open the downloaded file in your browser, and all your changes will be saved.
