X2go is a remote desktop application used to connect to remote Linux desktop servers. This tutorial explains how to install X2go on Kali Linux latest version.
Before proceeding with the installation process, ensure that:
Open the Terminal by pressing Ctrl + Alt + T
.
Add X2Go PPA repository to your system.
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:x2go/stable
sudo apt update
sudo apt install x2goserver x2goserver-xsession
sudo apt install x2goclient
sudo systemctl start x2goserver.service
sudo systemctl enable x2goserver.service
sudo systemctl status x2goserver.service
Open the X2go client application from the Applications menu.
Click on 'New Session' button to create a new session.
In the 'Session Name' field, enter a name for your session.
In the 'Host' field, enter the IP address or hostname of the remote Linux desktop server.
Select the session type from the dropdown menu.
Enter your username and password.
Choose the desktop environment of your choice.
Click on the 'OK' button to save the session settings.
Click on the session name to launch the remote desktop connection.
