How to Install Kerberos.io on Linux Mint
Kerberos.io is an open-source video surveillance solution that uses AI to detect and respond to potential security breaches. In this tutorial, we will be installing Kerberos.io on Linux Mint.
Prerequisites
- A Linux Mint machine running the latest version.
- Access to a terminal window.
Steps
Step 1: Download the latest version of Kerberos.io
- Open your terminal window on your Linux Mint machine.
- Navigate to the official Kerberos.io releases page by typing the following command in your terminal:
$ curl -fsSL https://github.com/kerberos-io/opensource/releases/latest/download/kerberos.tar.gz -o kerberos.tar.gz
- This will download the latest version of Kerberos.io in a compressed format.
Step 2: Extract the tarball
- After downloading the tarball, extract the contents by typing the following command in your terminal:
$ tar -xvf kerberos.tar.gz
- This will extract the contents into a folder named
kerberos
.
Step 3: Start Kerberos.io
- Switch to the
kerberos
directory by typing the following command:
$ cd kerberos
- Start Kerberos.io by typing the following command:
$ sudo ./kerberos
- This will start the Kerberos.io service on your machine.
Step 4: Access Kerberos.io
- Open your web browser and navigate to
http://localhost:80/
.
- You should now see the Kerberos.io login page.
- Enter your desired username and password and click "Sign In" to access the Kerberos.io dashboard.
Congratulations! You have successfully installed Kerberos.io on your Linux Mint machine. You are now ready to start setting up your video surveillance system.
