MyPaas is a free, open-source platform that allows you to deploy and manage your applications in a cloud environment. In this tutorial, we will show you how to install MyPaas on Linux Mint.
Before we begin, you'll need to have the following:
The first step is to install Docker on your system. Run the following commands to install Docker:
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install docker.io
Once Docker is installed, check if the installation was successful by running the command:
sudo docker run hello-world
If the installation was successful, you should see a message that says "Hello from Docker!".
Next, we need to install Docker Compose. Run the following commands to install Docker Compose:
sudo curl -L "https://github.com/docker/compose/releases/download/1.29.2/docker-compose-$(uname -s)-$(uname -m)" -o /usr/local/bin/docker-compose
sudo chmod +x /usr/local/bin/docker-compose
Verify that Docker Compose is installed correctly by running the following command:
docker-compose --version
This should output the version of Docker Compose that you installed.
Now that we have Docker and Docker Compose installed, we need to clone the MyPaas repository from Github. To do this, run the following command:
git clone https://github.com/almarklein/mypaas.git
This will create a directory called mypaas in your current directory containing the source code for the MyPaas application.
The last step is to run the MyPaas application using Docker Compose. Change to the mypaas directory and run the following command:
cd mypaas
sudo docker-compose up -d
This command will download and build the necessary Docker images and start the MyPaas application in the background. You can check that the containers are running by running the command:
sudo docker ps
This should show you a list of running containers related to MyPaas.
We have now successfully installed and started the MyPaas application. To access MyPaas, open your web browser and navigate to http://localhost:3000. You should see the MyPaas login page.
Congratulations! You have successfully installed MyPaas on your Linux Mint system. You can now use this platform to deploy and manage your applications in a secure and scalable cloud environment.
If you want to self-host in an easy, hands free way, need an external IP address, or simply want your data in your own hands, give IPv6.rs a try!
Alternatively, for the best virtual desktop, try Shells!
