In this tutorial, we will guide you through the process of installing Tryton, a free and open-source business management software, on Linux Mint Latest.
Before installing Tryton, you must first install the required dependencies. To do so, open the terminal and run the following command:
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install python3 python3-dev python3-pip python3-setuptools python3-wheel python3-cffi python3-psycopg2 python3-babel python3-ldap python3-tz python3-dateutil python3-pil python3-relatorio python3-sql python3-markupsafe python3-yaml python3-werkzeug python3-jinja2 python3-vatnumber python3-natsort python3-simpleeval postgresql postgresql-client libpq-dev libxml2-dev libxslt1-dev libldap2-dev libsasl2-dev
Once the requirements are installed, you can proceed to install Tryton. Follow the steps below:
Open a web browser and go to the official Tryton website: https://www.tryton.org/download.html
Scroll down to the section labeled "Latest Release" and find the link to download the TAR archive.
Download the archive to your home directory.
Open a terminal and navigate to your home directory where the TAR archive is located.
Extract the archive by running the following command:
tar xvfz tryton-x.x.x.tar.gz
Note: Replace "x.x.x" with the version number of the downloaded archive.
Navigate to the extracted directory:
cd tryton-x.x.x
Note: Replace "x.x.x" with the version number of the extracted directory.
Install Tryton by running the following command:
sudo python3 setup.py install
Note: This command will install Tryton and all of its dependencies.
Open a terminal and run the following command to log in to PostgreSQL:
sudo -u postgres psql
Create a new user and database for Tryton by running the following commands:
CREATE USER tryton WITH PASSWORD 'tryton';
CREATE DATABASE tryton WITH OWNER tryton;
GRANT ALL PRIVILEGES ON DATABASE tryton TO tryton;
Note: You can replace "tryton" with your preferred username and password.
Exit the PostgreSQL prompt by running the following command:
\q
Open a terminal and navigate to the directory where Tryton is installed:
cd /usr/local/bin/
Start Tryton by running the following command:
trytond
Open a web browser and go to the following URL:
http://localhost:8000/
Note: If you installed Tryton on a remote server, replace "localhost" with the IP address or hostname of the server.
Log in to Tryton using the username and password you created during the installation process.
Congratulations! You have successfully installed Tryton on Linux Mint Latest.
