Zero-K is a free, open-source, and cross-platform Real-Time Strategy (RTS) game that offers a unique gameplay experience. In this tutorial, we will show you how to install Zero-K on Linux Mint.
Before you start, make sure that your system meets the following requirements:
First, open your web browser and visit the official Zero-K website at https://zero-k.info/.
Click on the "Download" button to download the latest version of Zero-K. Make sure that you download the Linux version.
Before installing Zero-K, you need to install some dependencies. Open the terminal and execute the following command:
sudo apt-get install libsdl2-2.0-0 libsdl2-image-2.0-0 libsdl2-mixer-2.0-0 libsdl2-ttf-2.0-0
This command installs the required SDL2 libraries for Zero-K.
Once the file is downloaded, navigate to the directory where the file is saved and extract the contents of the file using the following command:
tar -xvzf zero-k-linux-latest.tar.gz
This will extract the Zero-K files to a new directory called "zero-k".
To launch Zero-K, navigate to the "zero-k" directory and run the "pring" binary file using the following command:
cd zero-k
./spring
This will launch the Zero-K game.
