Laminar is a minimal 2D animation software that is compatible with Windows, Mac, and Linux operating systems. It allows you to create vector graphics, manipulate shapes, add motion gradually or drastically, and export the animation in a variety of formats. In this tutorial, we will cover the steps required to install Laminar on MXLinux.
Before we proceed with the installation of Laminar, you need to ensure that the following prerequisites are met:
Laminar is available as a snap package, and you can install it using the terminal. Please follow the below steps to install Laminar on MXLinux.
Open the terminal by pressing Ctrl+Alt+T
. This action should open the terminal window.
Since we will be installing Laminar as a snap, we need to make sure the Snapd is installed on our system. If you already have Snapd installed, please skip this step.
sudo apt-get install snapd
Now that we have installed the Snapd, let's proceed by installing Laminar. Run the below command to install Laminar:
sudo snap install laminar
This command will download, install and configure Laminar on your system.
Once the installation is complete, you can launch Laminar by typing the following command in the terminal:
laminar
Alternatively, you can search for Laminar in the application menu and launch it.
That's it; Laminar should now be installed on your MXLinux system. You can now start creating awesome animations using Laminar.
