ReleaseBell is a free and open-source application that notifies you when new releases of your favorite software are available. In this tutorial, we will guide you through the installation of ReleaseBell on MXLinux Latest.
To download ReleaseBell, open your web browser and navigate to https://releasebell.com/. Click on the Download button to download the .deb package.
Before installing ReleaseBell, we need to ensure that all dependencies are installed. Open the terminal and type the following command:
sudo apt-get install libglib2.0-0 libc6 \
libx11-6 libgtk-3-0 libnotify4 libwebkit2gtk-4.0-37
This command will install all required dependencies for ReleaseBell.
After completing the above step, navigate to the Downloads directory using the terminal:
cd ~/Downloads
Then use the dpkg command to install the ReleaseBell package:
sudo dpkg -i releasebell*.deb
Once installation is complete, you can launch ReleaseBell from the Applications menu or using the terminal:
releasebell
You should now see the ReleaseBell icon in the system tray.
To configure ReleaseBell, right-click the icon in the system tray and select Settings. In the Settings window, you can choose the software you want to monitor and set the refresh interval.
