In this tutorial, we will be learning how to install Shhh, which is a command-line tool for securely sharing secrets in a decentralized way. We will be installing it on MXLinux Latest using the Terminal.
Before proceeding with the installation, ensure that you have the following:
If Git is not already installed on your system, you can install it using the following command in the terminal:
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install git
Next, we will clone the Shhh repository using Git. Open the Terminal and type the following command:
git clone https://github.com/smallwat3r/shhh.git
This command will clone the Shhh repository to your current directory.
Shhh requires several dependencies to function correctly. We will install them using the following command:
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install curl build-essential libssl-dev pkg-config
Now that we have cloned the Shhh repository and installed its dependencies, we can build and install it on our system.
First, navigate into the cloned repository directory:
cd shhh
Next, run the following command to build and install Shhh:
make && sudo make install
This command will compile and install Shhh to your system.
To verify that Shhh is installed correctly on your system, run the following command in the terminal:
shhh --help
This command should display the help menu for Shhh, indicating that it is installed correctly.
