Weblate is a free, web-based translation platform that allows you to translate your projects into different languages. In this tutorial, I will show you how to install Weblate on MXLinux Latest.
Before proceeding with the installation, ensure that you have the following:
It is essential to update your system before proceeding with the installation. Open the terminal and run the following command:
sudo apt update && sudo apt upgrade
This command will update and upgrade all the packages installed on your system.
Before installing Weblate, you need to install the required dependencies. Run the following command to install the dependencies:
sudo apt install python3 python3-pip python3-dateutil python3-django python3-django-celery python3-django-redis python3-django-allauth python3-django-static-jquery python3-lxml python3-magic python3-pillow
This command will install all the dependencies required for Weblate.
To install Weblate, run the following command in the terminal:
sudo pip3 install weblate
This command will download and install Weblate on your system.
Once Weblate is installed, you need to configure it. Run the following command in the terminal to create a new Weblate project:
sudo weblate migrate
This command will create a new Weblate project and migrate the database.
To start Weblate, run the following command in the terminal:
sudo weblate runserver
This command will start Weblate on the default port 8000. You can access Weblate by opening your web browser and navigating to http://localhost:8000
