Feed2toot is a Python-based script that allows you to automatically post RSS feeds to Mastodon. This tutorial will guide you through the process of installing and setting up Feed2toot on MX Linux latest.

To install feed2toot on MX Linux, follow these steps:
Open up a terminal window.
Install the latest version of feed2toot by running the following command:
sudo pip3 install feed2toot
This command will download and install the necessary dependencies required to run feed2toot.
After the installation of feed2toot, you need to configure the script before you can use it.
Create a new file named .env
in your home directory and add the following lines:
MASTODON_ACCESS_TOKEN=youraccesskey
MASTODON_BASE_URL=https://mastodon.social
MASTODON_CLIENT_ID=yourclientid
MASTODON_CLIENT_SECRET=yourclientsecret
FEEDS=your_feed_url
Replace "youraccesskey," "yourclientid," "yourclientsecret," and "your_feed_url" with your Mastodon access key, Mastodon client ID, Mastodon client secret, and RSS feed URL, respectively. Mastodon Access Token, Client ID and Client Secret can be obtained from the Mastodon Developer area.
Save the .env
file.
In the terminal, run the feed2toot command:
feed2toot
This will run the script and automatically post updates from the RSS feed to your Mastodon account.
