Calagator is a Ruby on Rails application designed for managing and promoting tech-related events. In this tutorial, we will be installing Calagator on Manjaro Linux.
Before installing Calagator, we need to make sure that some prerequisites are installed on our system. Open the terminal and enter the following command to install Ruby:
sudo pacman -S ruby
Bundler is a Ruby gem that we will use to manage and install the required gems for Calagator. We can install Bundler using the following command:
sudo gem install bundler
First, we need to get the Calagator source code from the GitHub repository. Enter the following command to clone the repository:
git clone https://github.com/calagator/calagator.git
Change into the Calagator directory:
cd calagator
Install the required gems using Bundler:
bundle install
Create the database:
bundle exec rake db:create db:migrate db:seed
Now that Calagator has been installed, we can run it using the following command:
bundle exec rails server
Once the server is running, you can access the Calagator application by opening your web browser and entering the following URL: http://localhost:3000
