Cockpit is a web-based graphical interface that allows you to manage your Linux server. In this tutorial, we will walk you through the installation of Cockpit on Manjaro.
Before we begin, make sure you have a Manjaro installation up and running. You will also need root privileges to complete the installation process.
Before installing any package in Manjaro, it is always a good practice to update the system package cache and upgrade the installed packages. You can do that using the following command in the terminal.
sudo pacman -Syyu
Once the system is updated, you can proceed to install the Cockpit package. The Cockpit package is available in the Manjaro official repositories. You can install it using the following command in the terminal.
sudo pacman -S cockpit
This command will download and install Cockpit along with all the necessary dependencies.
After the installation is complete, you can start and enable the Cockpit service using the following commands in the terminal.
sudo systemctl start cockpit.service
sudo systemctl enable cockpit.service
The first command will start the Cockpit service and the second command will enable the Cockpit service to start automatically at system boot.
The Cockpit web interface can be accessed using a web browser. Open your favorite web browser and enter the following URL in the address bar.
https://<your-server-ip>:9090
