FreedomBox is a free software project that allows you to run your own server on your home network. It provides a variety of privacy and security features, as well as a range of applications for communication, file sharing, and more. Before you begin, make sure you have the following:
Step 1: Open a terminal window by pressing ctrl + alt + t
on your keyboard.
Step 2: Add the FreedomBox repository to your Manjaro system by running the following command:
sudo pacman-key --recv-keys 1EDB1C7D46FBB368
sudo pacman-key --lsign-key 1EDB1C7D46FBB368
sudo nano /etc/pacman.conf
Add the following lines to the file:
[freedombox]
SigLevel = Never
Server = https://freedombox.rocks/static/freedombox/archive/freedombox_19.22/
Save your changes and exit the file.
Step 3: Update the Manjaro package database by running the following command:
sudo pacman -Syy
Step 4: Install FreedomBox by running the following command:
sudo pacman -S freedombox
Step 5: Once the installation has completed, start and enable the service by running the following command:
sudo systemctl enable --now freedombox
To access FreedomBox, navigate to https://freedombox.local or https://192.168.10.1 in a web browser. You may be prompted to accept a security certificate, this is normal.
