Juju is an open-source application that allows you to model and deploy applications in a simplified way. In this tutorial, we will show you how to install Juju on Manjaro.
Before we begin the installation process, make sure your system is up-to-date with the latest packages.
sudo pacman -Syu
Snap is a package management system from Canonical, which allows you to install and manage applications on different platforms. Juju package is available as a snap package for installation.
The first step is to install Snapd using the following commands:
sudo pacman -S snapd
sudo systemctl enable --now snapd.socket
sudo ln -s /var/lib/snapd/snap /snap
To install Juju, you can use the following command:
sudo snap install juju --classic
This will download and install the Juju package in your system. Using the --classic
flag ensures Juju has access to all privileges it requires to function.
After installation, verify the installation by running the following command:
juju version
If Juju is installed correctly, you will see the version number printed to the console.
Juju is now installed on your Manjaro system. You can now use Juju to deploy and manage applications in a simplified way.
