How to Install Ombi on Manjaro

In this tutorial, you will learn how to install Ombi on Manjaro, a Linux distribution based on Arch Linux. Ombi is a web application that allows you to manage your media collection and request new content to be added. The installation process is straightforward and should take only a few minutes.

Prerequisites

Before installing Ombi, you need to install the following software:

Step 1: Install Ombi

To install Ombi on Manjaro, follow these steps:

  1. Open a terminal window.

  2. Run the following command to create a new directory for Ombi:

    mkdir ~/ombi

  3. Navigate to the new directory:

    cd ~/ombi

  4. Run the following command to download the Ombi Docker image:

    sudo docker pull linuxserver/ombi

  5. Run the following command to start the Ombi container:

    sudo docker run -d \
    --name=ombi \
    -e PUID=$(id -u) \
    -e PGID=$(id -g) \
    -e TZ=Europe/London \
    -p 3579:3579 \
    -v ~/ombi:/config \
    --restart unless-stopped \
    linuxserver/ombi

This command starts the Ombi container with the following configuration:

    • --name=ombi: the name of the container.
    • -e PUID=$(id -u): the user ID of the user running the container.
    • -e PGID=$(id -g): the group ID of the user running the container.
    • -e TZ=Europe/London: the time zone of the container.
    • -p 3579:3579: the port number that is used to access the Ombi web interface.
    • -v ~/ombi:/config: the directory on the host machine where the Ombi configuration files will be stored.
    • --restart unless-stopped: automatically restart the container when the Docker daemon starts, unless the container was explicitly stopped by the user.
    • linuxserver/ombi: the name of the Docker image.
  6. After running the command, the Ombi container will start. Wait for a few minutes until the container is fully started. You can check the status of the container by running the command sudo docker ps.

  7. Once the container is started, you can access the Ombi web interface by opening a web browser and going to http://localhost:3579.

Step 2: Configure Ombi

When you access the Ombi web interface for the first time, you will be prompted to configure your Ombi settings. Follow the prompts to complete the setup process.
