LiveKit is a serverless video conferencing platform that provides real-time, high-quality video and audio communication services. In this tutorial, we will walk you through the steps to install LiveKit on NetBSD.
Before we begin, make sure you have the following prerequisites:
First, download the LiveKit package from the official website at https://livekit.io/. Choose the appropriate version for your platform and architecture.
Once the download completes, extract the package to a suitable location on your NetBSD system. You can use the tar
command to extract the tarball:
tar -xzf livekit-1.2.3-netbsd-amd64.tar.gz
Replace livekit-1.2.3-netbsd-amd64.tar.gz
with the name of the package you downloaded.
After extracting the package, navigate to the extracted directory and run the install.sh
script:
cd livekit-1.2.3-netbsd-amd64
sudo ./install.sh
The install.sh
script will install LiveKit on your NetBSD system.
After installation, you can start the LiveKit server using the livekit
command:
livekit start
The command will start the LiveKit server and provide you a URL to access the dashboard.
That's it! You have successfully installed LiveKit on NetBSD. You can now start using LiveKit to set up video conferences and communicate in real-time with others.
If you want to self-host in an easy, hands free way, need an external IP address, or simply want your data in your own hands, give IPv6.rs a try!
Alternatively, for the best virtual desktop, try Shells!
