Installing TagSpaces on NetBSD

TagSpaces is a cross-platform file manager that allows you to organize and manage your files using tags. In this tutorial, we will walk you through the process of installing TagSpaces on NetBSD.

Prerequisites

Before we begin, make sure that you have the following prerequisites installed on your machine:

Step 1: Download TagSpaces

The first step is to download the latest version of TagSpaces from the official website using the following command:

$ fetch https://www.tagspaces.org/download/TagSpaces-x64-3.11.1.tar.gz

Step 2: Extract TagSpaces

After downloading the TagSpaces archive, use the following command to extract it:

$ tar -zxvf TagSpaces-x64-3.11.1.tar.gz

This will create a directory called TagSpaces-x64 in your current directory.

Step 3: Install OpenJDK

TagSpaces requires Java to run. We will be using OpenJDK, which is available in the NetBSD package repository.

To install OpenJDK, run the following command:

$ pkg_add openjdk8

Step 4: Run TagSpaces

You can now run TagSpaces by navigating to the TagSpaces-x64 directory and executing the tagspaces script:

$ cd TagSpaces-x64
$ ./tagspaces

This will launch TagSpaces in your default web browser. You can use it to manage and organize your files using tags.
