How to Install Bsimp on OpenBSD

Bsimp is a command-line utility for generating Bcrypt hashes. In this tutorial, we will walk you through the installation process of Bsimp on OpenBSD.

Prerequisites

Before installing Bsimp, you need to make sure that your OpenBSD system meets the following requirements:

Step 1: Install Git

To install Bsimp, we first need to install Git. Open the Terminal and execute the following command:

$ sudo pkg_add -i git

This command will install the Git package on your system.

Step 2: Clone Bsimp Repository

Once Git is installed, you can clone Bsimp repository from GitHub by entering the following command:

$ git clone https://github.com/akrylysov/bsimp.git

This command will download the Bsimp source code to your system.

Step 3: Build and Install Bsimp

Navigate to the bsimb directory and execute the following command to build and install Bsimp:

$ cd bsimb
$ sudo make install

This command will build and install Bsimp on your OpenBSD system.

Step 4: Verify Bsimp Installation

To check if Bsimp is properly installed, enter the following command:

$ bsimb -h

If everything is installed correctly, you should see the help information for Bsimp.
