DietPi is a lightweight, efficient and highly optimized operating system for single-board computers. In this tutorial, you will learn how to install DietPi on OpenBSD.
Before we begin, ensure that you have the following:
Create a new virtual machine and boot the OpenBSD installation media.
Open the terminal and log in as root.
Install QEMU by entering the following command:
pkg_add qemu
Download the DietPi image from the official website:
wget https://dietpi.com/downloads/images/DietPi_OpenBSD-x86_64-Bullseye.7z
Extract the image using 7zip:
7za e DietPi_OpenBSD-x86_64-Bullseye.7z
Change the name of the extracted file to "dietpi.img".
mv dietpi-OpenBSD-x86_64.img dietpi.img
Run the following command to start the virtual machine:
qemu-system-x86_64 -enable-kvm -m 2048 -hda dietpi.img -boot d -cdrom install68.iso
This command will start the virtual machine with 2GB of RAM, the DietPi image as the hard disk and the OpenBSD installation media as the CD-ROM.
Follow the steps in the OpenBSD installation process.
Once the installation is complete, reboot the virtual machine.
Congratulations! You have successfully installed DietPi on OpenBSD.
