GNU Bazaar is a distributed version control system that you can use to manage your source code. Here's how you can install it on OpenBSD.
Before you can install GNU Bazaar, you need to install a few dependencies. Open a terminal window and run this command:
$ sudo pkg_add python3
This will install Python 3, which is required for GNU Bazaar.
Next, download the GNU Bazaar tarball from the official website. Open a terminal window and run this command:
$ wget https://launchpad.net/bzr/2.8/2.8.0/+download/bzr-2.8.0.tar.gz
This will download the tarball to your current directory. Next, extract it using this command:
$ tar xzf bzr-2.8.0.tar.gz
This will create a directory called bzr-2.8.0
in your current directory.
Now that you have the tarball extracted, you can install GNU Bazaar. Navigate to the bzr-2.8.0
directory with this command:
$ cd bzr-2.8.0
Next, run these commands to configure and install GNU Bazaar:
$ ./configure --prefix=/usr/local
$ make
$ sudo make install
These commands will configure, compile, and install GNU Bazaar on your OpenBSD system.
To verify that GNU Bazaar is installed correctly, run this command:
$ bzr version
This should show you the current version of GNU Bazaar that you installed.
Congratulations! You have successfully installed GNU Bazaar on your OpenBSD system.
If you want to self-host in an easy, hands free way, need an external IP address, or simply want your data in your own hands, give IPv6.rs a try!
Alternatively, for the best virtual desktop, try Shells!
