How to Install Genesis on OpenBSD

This tutorial will guide you through the steps to install Genesis on OpenBSD. Genesis is a command-line tool for building, deploying, and managing Cloud Foundry environments.

Follow the steps below to install Genesis on OpenBSD:

  1. Open the terminal on your OpenBSD machine.

  2. Clone the Genesis repository from GitHub with the following command:

git clone https://github.com/starkandwayne/genesis.git
  1. Change into the cloned Genesis directory.
cd genesis
  1. Install the dependencies required for Genesis on OpenBSD. Enter the following command:
sudo pkg_add ruby ruby-gems ruby-bundler
  1. Install the required Ruby gems with the following command:
bundle install
  1. Run the following command to add Genesis to your OpenBSD machine's PATH:
echo 'export PATH=$PATH:/path/to/genesis/bin' >> ~/.profile

Note: Replace "/path/to/genesis" with the path to the directory where you cloned the Genesis repository.

  1. Verify that Genesis is installed correctly by running the following command:
genesis version
